This is Mickey Mouse made from Skittles candy. What I did was I used grid paper to formulate a template for me to be able to form the Mickey outline. It was a sticky and colorful process and it was a lot of fun. Working in rows and columns is an interesting form of art.
Art is a very broad subject. Art is found and can be created anywhere in many ways. Technology can most definitely contribute to the creation of art. Art is an expression of self and if someone can express themselves through technology, then that is most definitely a form of art. Animation is a form of art. When artists create an animated movie, a lot of creativity goes into that because the making of scenery and characters require a lot of drawing and art in general. Not only that but these animated movies can very well convey an important message which can be thought through self-expression. Also, a lot of music these days are generated or finalized through technology and music is a form of art. Yes, music ismade through instruments but, people can very much use technology to clean the music they produce. So, yes, you can create art with technology.
Performance artists have a goal. The goal is to convey a message that will contradict or challenge the society in which we are living in today. I think the three performance arts that have stuck out to me the most might be from Yoko Ono, Maria Abramovic, and Michael Smith. Yoko Ono piece “Cut Piece” was of her sitting with pieces of clothing that her audience could then take off. I think this piece signifies something really important. To me it meant that women are constantly objectified because throughout the whole performance she is covering her breasts. Which is a really important message because it just goes to show how the genders see each other. Maria Abramovic’s piece “Minute of Silence” is of her sitting in front of a person in silence. This piece is a bit intricate because I think it means that it’s hard to have constant eye contact with people but that it’s important to because you can really feel a sense of emotion and I just don’t think people now a days take...
